Designed by Paolo Gonzato, “ERA” is an artwork conceived as part of a series of collectible pieces exploring the relationship between history and contemporary artistic practice. Made with the unique stone Breccia Medicea dell’Acquasanta, the work transforms the stratification of a historic stone, rich in memory, into an essential and contemporary volume.
Its interrupted and reassembled surfaces evoke a process of stratification in which geological fragments and design gestures overlap, creating a balance between the natural and the artificial.
ERA takes the form of a one-of-a-kind sculptural microarchitecture, where material becomes visual language and form carries the memory of past eras into a suspended, contemporary dimension.
