Mariano Franzetti

Argentina

Ceaseless experimentation with new techniques and materials nurtures Mariano Franzetti‘s artistic language. Of Argentine origin, he studied Architecture at the Universidad Nacional in Cordoba before moving to Italy to be closer to the Renaissance masterpieces that have inspired his artistic mark. Among his successful group and solo exhibitions, the 2021/2022 “PUTTY TOYS TRICKY, LORO” boasts sculptures, tapestries, paintings, and bas-reliefs, through which Franzetti sheds light on the fascinatingly contradictory nature of contemporary life.

“In my work, creation is a very powerful moment. Matter and ideas coalesce to create a profound sensorial experience. In this process, the relationship between material, form and craft has a crucial role.”

Within the vision of Acquasanta Edizioni, the collaboration with the artist gives shape to “Smash”, a brutalist ping pong table, suspended between functional object and symbolic narrative.
